Spelling errors among Al-Istiqlal students

This study aims to recognize the degree of Spelling Errors among Al-Istiqlal Students. The study population consists of all the English department students in Al-Istiqlal University from first semester from 2017/2018 academic year. The sample consists of 30 students. The researcher in this study used the descriptive analytical method, by taking the advice from supervisors and previous studies the study was in the form of a test. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher used a test.
The researcher ends in the following results:
-    The degree of spelling errors among Al-Istiqlal students is Moderate by (1.472) mean
-    The most frequent errors that students facing in spelling is (their) with (93.3%) false, but the less word is (choice) with rate (90%) true
-    There were no significance differences at (a>0.05) in spelling errors that facing students al Al-Istiqlal university due to gender, and education level
According to the pervious results the researcher suggests and recommends the following:
1-    Developing program for students to clarify the concept of the language and uses
2-     Encouraging students and motivating them to learn the meanings of new words, and use
3-     Working on the application of the use of English language among secondary school students through contacting with foreign educational institutions and centers.
4-    Doing more researches and studies to identify the reasons for the weakness of students in the spelling from the point of view of teachers.
