The Effect of Motivation ON English Students Achievements at Al Istiqlal University

 This study investigates the effect of motivation on students’ achievement at Al-Istiqlal University. 
The sample of the study were 30 English majors from the first, second, third and fourth year students .

The researcher used a questionnaire consisting of 29 items based on the five-point Likert scale: Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree and Strongly Disagree. 

The results of the study indicates that the total score of the questionnaire received a high degree of approval by the sample.

Furthermore, the results indicated that the items which received the lowest degree of agreement were related to topic. Also, the results indicate ‘that there was no significant difference in the scores of the males and females on the effect of motivation on English students’ achievement at Al Istiqlal University.
Finally, the researcher gave some recommendations about the importance of motivation in encouraging the students to learn and to become more active in the classroom.
