An Analytical Study of how the Internet is a double Edged Sword in Developing Language Skills
Technology has developed in the past decades significantly that exceeded the importance of developments in many centuries ago. The most important of these developments is the Internet, which
contributed significantly to accelerate communication between people, institutions and countries. Since language is the primary means of communication between people, it is expected that the language will be influenced by the Internet and what can happen through it such as conversations, communication and chats among individuals. Therefore,the vocabulary, rules and bases on which the language is based on the Internet may be negatively or positively affected. Where it is possible touse the correct foundations by individuals, and it is possible that individuals use terms and rules violate the basic foundations of language. The study aimed to identify the effects of the use of the Internet, especially in terms of language, as the language used in the Internet may be different or close to the correct language with its rules and vocabulary. The students' opinions were polled at Al-Isiqlal University of Istiqlal. The results showed a great consensus that the Internet raises the importance of language and enhances the skills of individuals and maintains their communication with them in written and
visual form. If you misuse the Internet, the language will be negatively affected and the consequences will be severe on individuals and society in terms of language.
