A study of the Strategies for Maximizing Student's Talking Time in Speaking Courses


 

The main object of this research is to investigate the top strategies for Maximizing Student's Talking Time in Speaking Courses. The teaching context in this 21st century is determined by the globalized world in which students are immersed. The demanding work conditions create a need for

students to be autonomous and efficient in all areas. It is in this context where learning strategies become important to develop the students' language ability to be self-sufficient and direct their own learning prOcess.

This research talks about the most important strategies for maximizing student's talking time in speaking courses in the secondary schools, and the mportance of these strategies in raising teachers' awareness of the importance of talking to learn and help students to improve their language development in Order to encourage effective spoken communication and to move students 1orward linguistically, from every day conversational talk towards academic Talk, and to develop their language skills whether related to negotiation of meaning or the alteration of the message or connected to body language.
